Təqʷuʔbəʔ
after “Seattle’s Poem” by Claudia Castro Luna
Paradise is a meadow
Perched on the blooms
And seeds of wildflowers, blue
Violet of Jeffrey’s Shooting Star, red
Pink of Rosy Spirea
Early morning
Deer grazing
The two inseparable as
Language is to poem and
Water to life
Təqʷuʔbəʔ I call to
The mother of waters
